Blazers and Scarves and Dots, oh my!

This is my last winter outfit to upload!  Illinois is still coming out of this ridiculous winter but today it rained instead of snowed and I definitely welcome that over the snow.

Lately, I've been buying a lot of blazers and structured jackets.  Because of my shape, I'm starting to realize that cardigans (as much as I love them) look kind of frumpy on me unless I buy them several sizes smaller.  But the structured look compliments my frame more.

I used to dislike corduroy for no good reason.  This blazer is very stretchy so it fits my broad shoulders much better than most jackets.  Therefore I had to buy it and I subsequently decided I have no reason for not liking corduroy.

The dress is one of my favorites because it hugs my body but not so much that you see everything :)
The other thing I remember about this outfit is that I was wearing my thermal tights.  My thermal tights are a little too big for me (but the smaller size is too small) and they tend to fall down, BUT I figured out that I can put a small thin belt around them and they stay up.

The things we do to dress nicely in -20F weather....

Dress: JC Penny
Blazer: thrifted
Scarf: gift
Shoes: Shoe Sensation
Earrings: Vintage Rose Antiques
